Creator

We helped launch Creator Burger – a San Francisco based start-up that's making delicious burgers using AI and robotics.

Positioning and brand voice from scratch.

Launching a new brand, product, or service requires creating a compelling brand narrative. Quick serve restaurants and fast casual dining are fiercely contested spaces, where margins are razor-thin and a single misstep is felt in the bottomline at the end of each day. In the summer of 2018 inside.company developed the content strategy and messaging tone and voice for Creator — a culinary robotics company that’s using AI and robots to cook and build burgers to order.

Rivian

IPO supercharger.

We embed directly into existing product, design, and marketing teams to fill strategic gaps, build bridges, and elevate the output of the highest performing teams.

Support and augmentation for all-star in-house teams.

In 2021 inside.company was embedded within Rivian’s in-house team. Working across the product and brand business units, we connected the two teams while collaborating with c-suite leadership. Our responsibilities included refining the Rivian brand voice, conducting product-lead stakeholder interviews, development of the content strategy and copy for rivian.com, content development for the Adventure Products Configurator including all vehicle accessories, end-to-end UX copywriting for the Rivian Owners app, and dozens of long-form posts for the Rivian stories blog. The team also led product naming exercises including the naming of ‘Waypoints’ – Rivian’s L2 network of chargers. Our engagement culminated with Rivian becoming the biggest IPO of 2021 with a market cap of over $105 billion.

Google AI

Making the complex, simple.

We helped rebrand Google’s research division as Google AI, one of the highest profile divisions in the company today.

Synthesizing scientific info for the masses.

The project required managing complex information across multiple constituencies and the distillation of highly-technical computer science concepts into easy to understand consumer facing language. Our role included – content strategy, conducting of interviews with subject matter experts within Google’s AI team, long-form copywriting, and editing. Celebrity Cruises

Transformative app design.

inside.company designed a new app to introduce Celebrity’s most technologically advanced ship ever to a new generation of tech-savvy luxury travelers.

Leveraging new technology to launch incredible experiences.

There’s no better way to welcome guests and orient them on a cruise then with a tour. We took the traditional cruise ship and gave it a modern twist. The Edge Access Tour offers guests a personalized app-based augmented reality tour of the ship’s amenities, restaurants, and entertainment. 3D binaural audio recordings, brought to life with a 3D augmented reality cast including Celebrity CEO Richard Fain, and RFID beacon technology make for an engaging and immersive experience to complement the cruise line newest addition to the fleet.

Google

Special projects are our specialty.

Google was launching a new experience center located in the historic Spruce Goose Hangar created to engage key clients in deeper conversations. We helped position and message the complete marketing collateral system for launch.

Defining a brand voice for brand new service.

At inside we only pitch projects we truly believe in. For this opportunity, we partnered with content agency, Oddfellows, to work on Google’s newest invitation only experience center. The project required working inside Google’s event programming team to distill and clearly communicate what fortune 50 clients could expect from the Room98 experience. One part brochure and one part programming guide we developed the brand voice and executed end-to-end messaging from the first introductory email, through to printed invitations, a high-end printed brochure, website, apparel, and corporate gifts.

Spotify

Extra feely social content.

Brands need video content that stands out in social feeds. We created an ASMR-inspired spot for Spotify to help drive subscriptions for their premium paid service.

Floating above an endless stream of content.


With brand and consumer content living in a single continuous feed, it's critical to stand out. For Spotify Premium we imagined a tactile physical version of their all digital service. One that's built from premium materials like stone, wood, leather, and fabric. This touchy feely piece enhances the perception of Spotify Premium’s value, and grabs viewer attention with a uniquely new perspective on their product.

Complex services benefit from visualizations that make abstract concepts tangible. We helped Google explain the benefits Google’s Password Manager using simple metaphors and clear language.

The pandemic has created new limitations on content production – making live action shoots impractical. We worked with Google to develop a wholly CGI approach to explaining Password Manager – using clear language, paired with simple and pure visual metaphors to explain complex concepts with minimalist style.

Cause marketing that matters.

Our founder led the creation of a national campaign to raise awareness about food waste in America. To date it’s received more donated media than any pro-bono campaign ever created.

The Apple Store

Crafting compelling retail experiences.

inside.company concepted, messaged, and positioned the new store opening of Apple’s third largest retail location in the US.

The small company for big creative problems.

Instead of hiring a big agency, Apple embedded inside.company into their in-house Marcoms team to position, concept, and message their new store opening – Apple Aventura. Situated in South Florida, the mid-century inspired pavilion was designed to meet the growing demand for US and Latin-American markets. Our Miami headquarters positioned us to tap into the local scene and culture to create messaging and programming that was a perfect fit.

Artificial Intelligence incubator enlisted inside.company to work across emerging startups to help them develop their brand voice and narrative.

Thriving on the frontlines of emerging tech startups.


We help brands articulate what they do, how they do it, what makes them different, and why the world should care. All Turtles, a Silicon Valley based incubator that focuses on artificial intelligence technology, hired insidecompany to help with just that, across three startups they were helping get off the ground. Disco is an employee engagement tool that makes it easy to recognize contributions large and small across your company. Spot – a chatbot designed to help victims of harassment and discrimination record and report their experiences. Edwin offers personalized and accessible English language tutoring using AI.

Defending truth online.

The spread of misinformation online has emerged as a critical issue of our time. Some say one that threatens the very nature of our democracy. Adobe is working on a solution and we were tasked to help.

Creating the standard for digital content attribution.

The Content Authenticity Initiative is building a system to provide provenance and history for digital media, giving creators a tool to claim authorship and empowering consumers to assess the trustworthiness of online content.

Shopify

Finding the heart in finance.

Developed in partnership with Shopify’s in-house production department we developed concepts and scripts for the Shopify Chip & Swipe reader launch.

Engaging content for competitive categories.


In the hotly contested space of point-of-sale payment processing, a differentiated story and compelling content are key to standing out. Shopify came to us with the challenge of introducing their first POS hardware to the world. We rose to the occasion, and developed the product’s tone and voice, along with a suite of online video narratives, and online messaging.

We specialize in storytelling and video-based narratives. Our team developed concepts and scripts for the Google Santa tracker. Animation by our good friends Oddfellows.

Strategizing the way forward.

Airbnb planned to branch out into the luxury rental space and looked to us for strategic positioning and brand voice guidance.

Creating strategic roadmaps for brands big and small.


Two years before Airbnb Luxe officially launched, Airbnb reached out to us to help position their newest service for success in the marketplace. Airbnb did a tremendous job creating a brand where people everywhere can belong anywhere. Our challenge was to position Airbnb Luxe as the company’s premium offering, without being perceived as too exclusive to their core brand mission, or alienating existing members of their community.
